Welcome to the beginning of our new Nursery Class Term. We have lots of exciting activities and topics planned for the next few weeks.
Our Curriculum Themes for this Autumn half term will be:
Friends & Family, Colours In Nature and Light and Dark.
We feel it is very important for us to create a partnership with our parents and carers and we will be sharing the children’s learning on Class DoJo and See Saw.
Stay and Play
Our monthly stay and play sessions are on the last Friday of the month. The children love it when you join them in their nursery activities. Stay and Play session times are 10.45am-11.45am and 1.15pm-2.15pm. (Younger siblings are welcome to join in the fun too.)
Dates for Your Diary:
Wednesday and Thursday: PE Sessions- Please ensure your child comes dressed ready for PE in jogging bottoms or Leggings and trainers. All Earrings must be removed.
Tuesday: Music Session with Lesley for South Lakes Rock School. The children will learn a little about different styles of music, simple rhythms, play percussion instruments and develop their self confidence in singing and performance.
Monday Morning and Thursday Afternoon: Outdoor Learning Visit Day. We aim to take the children out on the mini bus as often as possible. Visits to the woods, beaches, parks and local areas of interest help the children to understand the local environment and the world around them, while developing self confidence, speech and language. The children need to come dressed ready for the weather on that day, waterproof outdoor coat, wellies and a bag of spare clothing to change into. We will give you prior notice of our visits.
Daily Reading: The children will bring home a story book each day to share with you. We ask that you sign their reading record each time you read so the children can collect reading miles. We award reading miles for 25, 50, 75, 100 books.
